Why “At Rudolf’s Delight”?
Rudolf II, a renowned patron of the arts and alchemy, cherished Zbiroh Castle as a site for secret experiments and peaceful retreats. Legend has it that within these very halls, he often feasted with alchemists and artists. In his honour, we named our tavern. For simplicity and familiarity, we usually refer to it simply as The Tavern.
The Original Tafelspitz of Emperor Franz Joseph I
This beloved dish of Emperor Franz Joseph I is made from prime beef following an authentic recipe from the imperial court. It features a unique four-course menu: sirloin cap served in a rich beef broth, accompanied by marrow bone, roasted potatoes, and apple horseradish.

We favour seasonal produce, hand-picked with the utmost care, and proudly support local farmers and producers to bring you the best the region has to offer. Some of the herbs we use in our cooking are grown in our very own park.
